I'm an active guy so you'll often hear me talk about being at the gym, playing hockey, cycling or a snowboarding trip - there's nothing better than an Apres beer at the bottom of the slopes!
I live on the edge of London, finally benefitting from the opening of the Elizabeth Line - November 6th 2022 was a good day, don't let anyone tell you it opened before that :-) Since graduating from uni in 2008 I've worked in central London, always somewhere between the City and West End, except for a short blip where I found myself in Abu Dhabi.
As a Civil Engineer, it's no surprise I like the physical 'building' aspect of construction and property, but I'm also interested in the business decisions and strategy behind developments, plus the innovation and progression which is happening (slowly) and the industry needs to improve productivity.
I'm interested potential investments (not necessarily in the property sector) and how tech might change the way the future looks for us.
I've worked on a number of award winning projects and am currently a Project Director for Grosvenor Property UK in Mayfair and Belgravia, London. I work within a team of Project and Development Managers overseeing development projects. My responsibilities span feasibility through to handover, and commercial performance to health & safety.
I pride myself on the way I bring all aspects of the business together to shape a development project, promoting collaboration not only in the project team but between them and the rest of the Grosvenor business. My Engineering and Contracting background gives me a unique perspective when managing design development and construction works as the Client.
Currently, I'm focused on driving the delivery of the South Molton Triangle development. This is a major scheme in North Mayfair – a two-acre area bounded by Davies Street, Brook Street and South Molton Street, and lying immediately opposite the new Elizabeth Line Bond Street West station. The development will introduce over 150,000 sqft of grade A office space, plus homes, a hotel and retail with new public spaces.
Previously, I worked for Arup and Sir Robert McAlpine.
I write a regular Substack newsletter which shares my views and useful information in the property and development industry.
I've run my own event called Circular Steel twice now. In June 2023 it brought 140 attendees from across the supply chain and industry together for a fantastic day of networking, learning and collaboration.
