I'm an active guy so you'll often hear me talk about being at the gym, playing hockey, cycling or a snowboarding trip - there's nothing better than an Apres beer at the bottom of the slopes!
I live on the edge of London, finally benefitting from the opening of the Elizabeth Line - November 6th 2022 was a good day, don't let anyone tell you it opened before that :-) Since graduating from uni in 2008 I've worked in central London, always somewhere between the City and West End, except for a short blip where I found myself in Abu Dhabi.
As a Civil Engineer, it's no surprise I like the physical 'building' aspect of construction and property, but I'm also interested in the business decisions and strategy behind developments, plus the innovation and progression which is happening (slowly) and the industry needs to improve productivity.
I'm interested potential investments (not necessarily in the property sector) and how tech might change the way the future looks for us.
I am Founder and Director of Propetual, a consultancy business helping and advising all parts of the industry to use less and be more efficient with their resources. The circular economy and material reuse are two key areas of focus, stemming from a passion and niche I discovered while working as a Client.
I help a wide range of businesses and projects, ranging from clients and designers to contractors and members of the supply chain. With my new focus I also intend to help drive the industry forward, playing a strategic role, advising on policy and encouraging innovation.
I've run my own event called Circular Steel three times now. In September 2024 it brought 150 attendees from across the supply chain and industry together for a fantastic day of networking, learning and collaboration.
I am a founding member and Director of the Circular Do Tank which is all about driving the adoption of re-use practices in construction, renovation, and demolition projects. We launched on 30 September 2024 and want to talk to businesses who will commit to our circular pledge.
I write a regular Substack newsletter which shares my views and useful information in the property and development industry.
I've worked on a number of award winning projects and until recently was a Project Director for Grosvenor Property UK in Mayfair and Belgravia, London. I worked within a team of Project and Development Managers overseeing development projects. My responsibilities spanned feasibility through to handover, and commercial performance to health & safety. My Engineering and Contracting background gave me a unique perspective when managing design development and construction works as the Client.
In my most recent three years at Grosvenor, I was focused on getting the South Molton Triangle development through approvals and onto site. This is a major scheme in North Mayfair – a two-acre area bounded by Davies Street, Brook Street and South Molton Street, and lying immediately opposite the new Elizabeth Line Bond Street West station. The development will introduce over 150,000 sqft of grade A office space, plus homes, a hotel and retail with new public spaces.
Previously, I worked for Arup and Sir Robert McAlpine.
